We had pre-ordered tickets to visit Alcatraz, July 9 at 9:30. To be sure to be there on time we took away from the motel at 8 o'clock and then with the usual bus 30 to the port. We were there in plenty of time, but then we could start to see an exhibition on the wharf, with a fine model of 'The Rock', which is also called Alcatraz. Here we found such. out that most of the prison staff actually lived on the island and that the prison 'warden', which is probably best translated into inspector had a pretty impressive villa on the island where he lived with his family.
The trip to Alcatraz collapsible dish drainer was completed in a small ferry and the boat trip took about a quarter of an hour. From here it was, moreover, quite a good view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Upon arrival at the island, we moved directly to the prison building, where you could take an audio tour, very similar to the one we tried on the USS Midway. The difference here was that we should not enter the numbers of the items had been reached, but instead it was one long sequence of approximately 45 minutes, collapsible dish drainer which also guided us around the building. It worked really better because they were sure not to miss anything and so was not so much chaos in the corridors, as almost all people followed the audio tour. The delivery of equipment for audio tour came in who had worked as a bathroom for the inmates, collapsible dish drainer ie two long rows of showers, where they could bathe side by side.
On the whole, it was clear that Alcatraz has in no way been a nice place to be, as inserted. The cells were small, they enjoyed and had almost nothing but a bed, a toilet and a metal table and -bænk. Although the walls were thick, there was certainly not well insulated and especially the windows collapsible dish drainer were pretty leaky. Considering how cool was in the summer, it can not have been very nice in the winter. collapsible dish drainer Perhaps this is why there were also several who tried to escape, but as you know there is never any that have been confirmed to have fled, despite both creative collapsible dish drainer and impressive attempt.
After seeing the prison building we went looking around at the rest of the island, to see the other things that all included, inter alia, the employees' houses, the gardens, the lighthouse and so on. The gardens are still maintained by gardeners and is incredibly beautiful, with lots of colorful flowers. A stark contrast to the almost ghostly prison building. It was all in all a very interesting experience collapsible dish drainer to be on Alcatraz and it is certainly recommended. We met incidentally least four to five Danish families while we walked collapsible dish drainer around collapsible dish drainer out there and actually through our time in the United States met quite a few other Danes. No doubt that California is a popular destination for Danes.
When we got back on land after the ride to Alcatraz, we took a trip with the classic trams running in San Francisco. collapsible dish drainer So them where to stand out on the page. They were also included in our City Pass so it was easy just to jump in, even though they are quite popular and therefore often stuffed. From the harbor we drove to a museum of these trams, which are built around the center which cable pull trams are located. It's not a big museum, but in return it free and you get to see the mechanics collapsible dish drainer that control the old train. collapsible dish drainer
Then we ended the day by going to Union Square, which is a major shopping area in the city. There are lots of great towers and shopping malls, but in itself is not something you have not seen elsewhere. Moreover, there were not any of us who really had room for more in the trunk, so it was only for a few small purchases. We ended the day with a wonderful meal at The Cheese Factory Cafe before collapsible dish drainer we again took a tram and bus back to the motel.
