Following bruynzeel plywood the publication by Microsoft of the final version of its Office Web Apps version of 2013, Google responds by facilitating access to its online office applications, as announced on Google+. Previously integrated with Google Drive, they are now available individually on the Chrome Web Store, the online application store the Web giant dedicated to the Chrome browser and Chrome OS.
Once installed, these applications will therefore be proposed as shortcuts in a new tab page in Chrome. They will appear in a few weeks as individual applications in the default list proposed by Chrome OS on Chromebooks for example.
By the way, Google has renamed these applications, at least in the US version: Documents (word processing), Spreadsheets (spreadsheet) and Presentations (PowerPoint presentation types) give way to Docs, Sheets and Slides. The Drawings applications (graphs and charts) Forms (Forms) Script (JavaScript) and Fusion Table (databases) are also individually available on the Chrome Web Store. (EP)
